Kathleen Kastner is a Kansas native who earned a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Kansas. She was introduced to yoga in 1995 while working as a Personal Trainer to Dr. Deepak Chopra in Southern California. She began her yogic journey by studying Viniyoga with Trish O'Reilly of Solana Beach, CA and Vinyasa Yoga with Max Strom of Santa Monica, CA.
Kathleen's Ashtanga yoga practice has been influenced by the teachings of Pattabhi Jois, Tim Miller, Doug Swenson, Bhavani Maki, David Williams, Karen Noble and Danny Paradise. She is teacher certified through Max Strom and Tim Miller, and has been teaching in Kansas City since 1997. Kathleen is also a former co-owner of the original Yoga Gallery of Kansas City. Molly Root
Molly Root began her physical discipline as a dancer. She studied at Alvin Ailey Dance Theater and received a B.F.A. in dance at UMKC.
Her first introduction to yoga was with a style of yoga that combines the posture of Hatha Yoga with the continuous movement of dance,
created by Juliu Horvath in New York. Molly went on to become certified and licensed in Massage Therapy and has found massage and yoga
to compliment one another beautifully. Molly is yoga teacher certified by Max Strom of Venice, CA and has been studying yoga with Kathleen
and Patricia Gray since 1999.
Vanessa Tate
Vanessa was introduced to yoga, eight years ago, by a Kripalu teacher, while living in Boston. She loved the molding of spirituality and physical movement, which spurred her to explore other forms of yoga. While living in Chicago, she practiced at an Iyengar school and with basic hatha teachers. Looking for a more rigorous yoga practice after returning home to Kansas City, Vanessa began teaching herself Power Vinyasa with influences from Marc Blanchard and Bryan Kest. She soon met teachers Kathleen Kastner and Patricia Gray and found a yoga practice most close to her heart, Ashtanga. A love for people, teaching and her daily practice, motivated her to complete an intensive Ashtanga yoga teacher training with David Swenson in Berkley, California this past Spring.
