If you’ve never done Ashtanga Primary Series or Vinyasa yoga, please begin by taking “Introduction to Ashtanga”  or “Introduction to Vinyasa” classes.  No need to sign up in advance; please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to fill out required paperwork. These are intro classes to STRONG styles of yoga, you will be sweating! Bring a yoga mat, a towel, and wear work out attire. We rent mats and towels for $1 each.  (Our classes use music at the discretion of the teacher and are heated to 82 degrees. Water is not allowed in the Practice Room.)

NEW CLASS OFFERING:  Introduction to Mysore Style Ashtanga

This is intended to introduce you to how a Mysore Style Class operates.  Mysore Style Ashtanga is named after the city in India where Guru Pattabhi Jois taught Ashtanga Yoga for more than fifty years.  Today, Ashtanga students still visit Mysore, India and learn the Ashtanga system ‘pose by pose.’  In this traditional manner, students work at their own rate.  The class is not led by a teacher, so the room is silent.  However, teachers are on hand to help you enter, maintain, and exit a pose correctly.  Teachers use ‘hands-on adjustment’ techniques.  This is a perfect way for you to memorize the Ashtanga Series and to deepen your practice.  Please join us!  This is not a workshop.  Current students may use their current class passes.
