I am in a love affair with ginger. The taste. The smell. It is intoxicating. Here is my special Ginger Lemon Water. This is not for the faint-of-ginger-heart.
In a blender add:
- Juice of one (or two) lemons — two gives more of a lemonade quality
- Four cubes (about 3/4″ square) of fresh ginger root – remember to remove the skin
- One heaping teaspoon honey — I use raw honey
- A dash of cayenne pepper
- Three cups of water
Blend everything for a few minutes, then pour over a strainer to remove the chunks of ginger. Put the strained concentrate into a one-gallon container and fill with water. Chill. Enjoy!
