I am in a love affair with ginger. The taste. The smell. It is intoxicating. Here is my special Ginger Lemon Water. This is not for the faint-of-ginger-heart.

In a blender add:

  • Juice of one (or two) lemons — two gives more of a lemonade quality
  • Four cubes (about 3/4″ square) of fresh ginger root – remember to remove the skin
  • One heaping teaspoon honey — I use raw honey
  • A dash of cayenne pepper
  • Three cups of water

Blend everything for a few minutes, then pour over a strainer to remove the chunks of ginger. Put the strained concentrate into a one-gallon container and fill with water. Chill. Enjoy!
