Kathleen Kastner founded Maya Yoga in the spring of 2002.  She has been practicing and teaching Ashtanga Yoga for 22 years.  She completed Tim Miller's first teacher training in 2000 and practices daily with him in Encinitas, CA, the birthplace of Ashtanga Yoga in the west.
